This temporary architectural structure called “The Golden Moon” is a reflexion of Hong Kong’s rich culture and history, combining contemporary aesthetics and traditional craftsmanship. Built for the 2012 Mid-Autumn Festival Lantern Wonderland, it became a highly captivating public event destination. With abstracted flames in fiery colours and patterns, it is a beautiful homage to art of Chinese lantern making. It was created by The Laboratory for Explorative Architecture & Design (LEAD), a young architectural design and research practice based in Hong Kong.
